October the first is recognised as International Coffee Day around the world. Various countries celebrate their own National Coffee Day at different times of the year, with the majority having their National celebrations around September the 29th, with the 1st of October reserved for International celebrations, as agreed by the International Coffee Organization. The day is used as an opportunity for various businesses to hold trade-driving events, often giving away free samples, or offering coffee and coffee related products at a heavily discounted price for one day only. It is also used by some organisations to promote Fair Trade coffee and raise awareness of the conditions that some coffee growers endure in order to provide the rest of the world with this highly lucrative product. Here's a small selection of Displate artwork based on coffee or coffeeshop culture, and would look perfect mounted inside a restaurant, café, bar, or coffeeshop!
