40 years ago today we lost one of the great musical icons of the 20th century - Elvis Presley! Elvis was undoubtedly the king of Rock 'N' Roll, having had nine #1 albums in the States before his untimely death in 1977, aged 42. He had established himself as a popular country music singer in the early 1950's, before adopting the new sound of Rock 'N' Roll, and then being conscripted into the U.S. army in 1958. Throughout the 1960's Elvis focused on his acting career, starring in several major Hollywood productions, and gaining a huge cult following before making a triumphant comeback towards the end of the decade! He continued to be successful throughout the early 1970's, with his most iconic performance being in Las Vegas. Elvis will always be remembered as "The King" to many, and his Graceland home has since been turned into a shrine to the popular performer. We remember Elvis Presley with this collection of Displate artwork. Long live the king!
