The Fifth Element is a futuristic action film based in the 23rd century, and revolves around four mystical stones, each representing a different classical element which are crucial for the defence of planet Earth from alien invaders, along with a fifth human shape element to activate them. Korben Dallas, a flying cab driver on the verge of losing his licence, accidentally finds himself in possession of the fifth element - Leeloo - after she escapes the facility where she was cloned from recovered cells. Korben and Leeloo have to fight against time in order to recover the missing elemental stones, and to prevent the great evil that is threatening the planet. The 1997 Luc Besson film was a critical success, despite some criticism for its over-the-top nature, but has developed a cult following from fans over the years, and often ranks highly in Top 100 sci-fi lists due to its visual effects and art style. The film celebrated its 20th anniversary earlier this year, so to celebrate here's a selection of Displate artwork based on the cult favourite!
