The original film in the franchise, The Evil Dead, is a low-budget supernatural horror film created by director Sam Raimi and starring Bruce Campbell as the main protagonist of the series, Ash - one of a party of teenagers who spend a night at an isolated cabin in the woods, where they discover the Book Of The Dead. After reading from the book, the teenagers become possessed by demons. The second film in the series is a comedy sequel, partially re-imagining the events of the first film, but also introducing new aspects to the franchise such as Deadites, as well as the ending setting up a third film. The sequel, Army Of Darkness, follows on from the events of the second film, and sees a dismembered Ash transported back in time to the middle ages, where he battles Deadites alongside Lord Arthur. The first film was given a remake in 2013, with a larger budget, and was generally well received. In 2015 a ten episode TV series was commissioned by Starz, and follows the events of Army Of Darkness with Bruce Campbell reprising his role as Ash Williams. To celebrate this iconic series, here's a selection of Displate artwork based on the franchise.
