Alfred Hitchcock's 1960 classic, Psycho, was a far departure for the director due to its relatively low budget and black and white film style. The film is renowned as being the grandfather of the modern slasher, and is often ranked as one of the top 100 films of all time, as well as being considered as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant" by the National Film Registry. The film focuses around a psychologically unstable motel owner, Norman Bates, and a pilfering secretary, Marion Crane. Suffering from split personality disorder, Bates brutally murders Crane in the famous shower scene, all the while contesting that his dead mother told him to do it. Several sequels were produced between 1983 and 1990, followed by a reboot in 1998, and a hugely successful prequel TV series, Bates Motel, since 2013. To celebrate this masterpiece of cinema, here's a collection of Displate artwork based on the Hitchcock classic!
