Dr. No is the first film adaptation of author Ian Fleming's novels about British naval officer and spy, Commander James Bond - Codename: 007. Fleming had created the spy character in 1952, and publishing his first James Bond novel, Casino Royale, the following year. Dr. No was the sixth Bond novel to be written by Fleming, and was published in 1958. EON Productions soon picked up the film rights to the character and stories, and released the theatrical film adaptation of Dr. No in 1962! The film was released to a mixed critical reception, but generally well accepted enough to warrant a sequel, From Russia With Love, to be commissioned and released a year later. 55 years on, and the Bond franchise is still going strong, with 24 official EON films, two unofficial films, and a 25th EON film currently in production! Dr. No was also the first time that we heard that iconic James Bond theme, composed by Monty Norman, and used in almost every EON Bond film ever since! To celebrate the 55th Anniversary of the release of Dr. No, and the James Bond film franchise, here's a selection of Displate artwork based on the original film in the series, featuring Sean Connery as the suave secret agent!
