Perhaps some of the most iconic films in the horror genre, Wes Craven's A Nightmare On Elm Street franchise has inspired many other horror directors, and has proven to be financially successful due to the incredibly low budgets and relatively high box office takings. The basic premise of the films is that the spirit of a child murderer, Freddy Krueger, stalks and kills his victims via their dreams - if you die in the dream world, then you also die in the real world. There are seven main entries in the series, with an eighth being a cross-over with Friday The 13th (Freddy Vs Jason), and the ninth being a 2010 modern remake of the first film. The character of Freddy Krueger with his striped jumper and metal claw are iconic symbols of the franchise and horror genre as a whole, and a popular costume for Hallowe'en. To celebrate this monumental franchise, here's another selection of Displate artwork based on the popular slasher films!
