Stanley Kubrick's critically acclaimed film, A Clockwork Orange, is a dystopian psychological crime thriller based on the 1962 novel by Anthony Burgess. Set in the not too distant future, it follows the story of a misguided British teenager, Alex DeLarge, who is involved in several high-profile rapes and murders with his gang "The Droogs" after consuming drug-laden milk at a specialist "milk bar". The film is heavily inspired by the music of Ludwig van Beethoven, which acts as a focal plot device throughout the film, notably Beethoven's 9th Symphony. The film was originally withdrawn from release in the UK for 27 years due to extreme scenes of sexual violence, but was eventually rated by the BBFC and granted general release via home media in the year 2000. Here's some Displate artwork based on the film.
