Ant-Man And The Wasp is the latest film in Marvel's Cinematic Universe series of films featuring popular superheroes. The film was released several months ago in the United States, and has recently been released in cinemas in Europe (delayed in order to avoid competing with the FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia over the summer). The film is a direct sequel to Ant-Man, and takes place after the events of Civil War but slightly before the events of Infinity War, and continues the story arc of Scott Lang and his incredible shrinking suit developed by Hank Pym. The film has received mostly positive reviews from critics and fans, citing it as being a "Funnier and more light-hearted story" compared to that of some of the more recent films in the hugely successful Marvel franchise. The film has so far earned over $450m across all markets where it has been released, but some believe that the delayed release in Europe may have hindered its potential success, especially during an unprecedented heat-wave over the last few weeks. To celebrate the theatrical release of the film, here's some officially licenced Displate artwork featuring some of the key characters from Ant-Man And The Wasp!

George Lucas released the iconic Star Wars film in 1997 - a sci-fi epic that penetrated all forms of popular culture in the decades that followed! The film introduced cinema audiences to numerous iconic characters, spaceships, locales, and of course, the lightsaber weapon used solely by those who possess "The force" within them - namely the Jedi and Sith. With each lightsaber being unique to its user, this fictional energy sword is supposed to only able to be wielded successfully by those who have trained extensively in the ways of the Jedi, although several other characters have exhibited the ability to use a lightsaber from time to time. The powerful energy blade is able to melt and burn through many substances with relative ease, as well as inflicting a cauterized wound when it comes into contact with flesh. The sword can also be used as a defensive weapon, with the user able to deflect projectiles and other lightsaber beams. In honour of this iconic weapon, here's a set of officially licenced Displate artwork featuring the various unique lightsabers as used by the different characters in the Star Wars films! Solo: A Star Wars Story is currently dividing fans of Star Wars, and is also struggling to earn back its $250 million budget at the box office, so far falling short by $70 million as it enters its second week in theatres. With Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom due to be launched within the next week, it seems unlikely that Solo will break even, with many people blaming the close release schedule to The Last Jedi, and behemoth May blockbusters such as Avengers: Infinity War and Deadpool 2. Poor box office performance aside, here's a matching set of official Displate artwork featuring some of the characters from the film for those who enjoyed it. Click the "Browse Set" button to view the complete set of Solo Displate artwork.
Solo: A Star Wars Story is finally hitting cinemas around the world! A stand-alone story set between Episode III: Revenge Of The Sith and Episode IV: A New Hope, Solo follows the backstory of a young Han Solo telling a swashbuckling tale of how he met his friend, Lando Calrissian, and his beloved Wookiee companion, Chewbacca, as well as acquiring the iconic ship, the Millennium Falcon! The film is reported to have cost Disney $250 million to make, and is expected to easily break that during its first week in theatres, despite mediocre critical reviews. To celebrate the release of Solo, here's a selection of Displate artwork featuring the loveable rogue himself, Han Solo!
As expected, Deadpool 2 is tearing up movie theatres around the world having already broken the record for an opening weekend for an R-rated film, and knocking Avengers: Infinity War from the top spot. The well-received sequel starring Ryan Reynolds has already earned back the $110 million budget, and looks on course to break the half billion Dollar threshold before it finishes its cinema run! The film has so far resonated well with audiences, and helps set-up a potential X-Force movie in the near future, progressing 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise. To celebrate the release of this fan-favourite, here's another selection of Displate artwork featuring the merc with a mouth, Deadpool!
The hugely anticipated sequel to 2016's surprise blockbuster, Deadpool, is finally here! Deadpool 2 is launching in cinemas around the world, and once again follows the hi-jinks of the fourth wall breaking titular character played by Ryan Reynolds, alongside a much larger cast of superhero and anti-hero characters from Marvel's X-Men universe. The previous film broke new ground for R-rated comic book films, proving that there is a place for a foul-mouthed and violent comic book character. The success of the previous film prompted 20th Century Fox to commission a sequel, which sees Deadpool protecting a vulnerable young mutant from the time-traveller Cable. To celebrate the release of Deadpool 2 in theatres, here's a selection of Displate artwork based on the Merc With A Mouth, Wade Wilson!

After a short hiatus, the popular HBO show, Westworld, is back for a second season! Just like in the cult 1973 Michael Crichton film of the same name, this modern re-imagining takes place in a technologically advanced Wild West-themed amusement park, where the android inhabitants look and behave just like real human people and animals. Wealthy visitors are able to act-out any Western-style fantasy that they desire, either as an upstanding citizen or an outlaw! However, just like in the classic film, the androids are ravaged by a computer virus that causes them to behave erratically, achieving a level of sentience, and endangering the lives of the park guests! To celebrate the return of the series, here's a set of matching Displate designs by artist Scar Design, featuring the show's logo and the "maze" pattern that featured heavily in the first season of the show! |
