The recently released cinematic reboot of the Tomb Raider franchise appears to have divided fans and critics, not quite lighting the box office on fire as expected. This new reboot film closely follows the basic plot of the 2013 video game franchise reboot by Square-Enix, with actress Alicia Vikander performing the role of the young and inexperienced Lara Croft. The film follows her adventure to the Pacific island of Yamatai in search of her missing father who was researching the mystical Himiko, but after her vessel mysteriously capsizes, Lara quickly learns how to survive in a hostile environment as she battles a shadowy organisation called Trinity, as well as the supernatural. To celebrate the return of Tomb Raider to the big screen, here's a selection of Displate artwork based on the famous video game character, Lara Croft!

Derived from another board game from the early 1900's, the game of Monopoly has existed in one form or another since being published by Parker Brothers in 1935. The modern version of Monopoly has not changed much since it was first published, featuring more or less the same gameplay to when it was first introduced, although prices and locations have been updated to stay relevant. The two most popular versions of the game are based on London and New York locations, although many different regional editions have been released more recently, as well as many special editions of the game based on fictional locations from popular franchises such as Star Wars. Current publishers of the game, Hasbro, have also released several updated versions of the game featuring additional gameplay elements such as an electronic banker, although the same core gameplay still remains the same. In honour of the popular family favourite, here's a selection of Displate artwork by artist Design Turnpike, featuring some of the classic board game artwork!
The Dark Souls series is a spiritual successor to PS3 exclusive, Demon's Souls, and is widely renowned for being one of the most challenging series of games ever made, with countless online memes based on the relative difficulty of the franchise. The Dark Souls trilogy started in 2011 with the titular Dark Souls, and was as instant hit, despite having a minimalistic plot. Despite being set in the same universe, the following games in the series do not directly follow storyline elements, but do share the same overall gameplay mechanics with the first. All games in the series have achieved relatively high aggregate scores and favourable reviews, with the difficulty factor often stated as the primary reason why the games did not score higher. To celebrate this popular franchise, here's a selection of Displate artwork featuring characters from the series, by artist Psycho Schroom!
